Three verses.
Orusena, first of fathers,
He whose name the Water’s children
Hymn in love, in battle triumphed.
Orusena on the hilltop
Slew the long and yellow serpent,
Slew it with his shining spear-tip.
Now the fair and blessed Hasanyah
Stoops beside the World’s First Waters.
Now beside the World’s First Waters
Fair Hasanyah sings of cleansing,
Sings of oaths of earth and water,
Sings the oaths the Stone-kings taught her.
Ancient earth, the Deep Abysses,
Swallowed all the Serpent’s children,
While the Children of the Water
Keep the feast the Stone-kings gave us.
We rejoice, the Water’s Children,
We rejoice to see the triumph
Orusena, first of fathers,
Won in battle with the Serpent.
On this day of solemn feasting
Let us purify our senses,
Let us lay aside the garments
Stained with hateful Serpent’s venom.
