The Litany of Banishment

Priestess: Toward the South, toward the East, toward the broke and starless lands—

People: We spit, we turn away our faces from them.

Priestess: Upon all fallen Stars of Haven—against Vishnarr, whom we do not fear to name, and against Orkon the Vile, the deceiver of the Children—

People: We spit, we do not fear to name them.

Priestess: Against all giants, against the horned and many-eyed things of the poisoned waters, against all the children of infamous Gasojean—

People: We set our faces like flint.

Priestess: The sword shall not be put from our hand, the spear shall not cease to shine nor the bow cease to sing, until the Sea of Ambori flows clear as the ancient ocean, and all the deep places are cleansed.

People: The bow will not cease to sing.

Priestess: Against the Serpents, old and cunning, who sought to poison the First of Waters—

People: We set our faces like flint, we place them under ban.

Priestess: We place you under ban, O Serpent. By the Stars of Heaven, by the world’s First Waters, by Hurorupeim the Shining, by the tears of the last Stone-king, we place you under ban.

People: We place you under ban.

Priestess: The Song was made for the Children of Starlight. The Water holds the Memory of Starlight. Some have not heard the Song. Some have forgotten the Song, and these have gone down to Death. But we remember.

    People: We remember.

All: We remember. Chanted thrice.
