Alone among the Stars of Heaven

Nankeinela stands unchanging:

Brightest of the Stars of Heaven,

Shining singer of the music,

Northern light beyond the Heavens—

North of North is Nankeinela.

North of North is Nankeinela—

Truest North my soul is teaching

At the opening of the flower 

To sing the song that moves the waters,

Draws them up from deep abysses

To the realm that dwells in Starlight.

To the realm that, Under Starlight

Lying, listens to the Music

Let my soul be moved and drawn forth

From abysses deep within me

To the North of all desire,

To the light beyond the Starlight.
